Masculine objects, 2023

‘Masculine Objects’ is a series of seemingly unaltered still lives of the objects that inhabit boys bedrooms. All of the items are directly sourced from each space, with only a few manipulations to their positioning. Domestic and interior spaces are often associated with the biological “female”, the people in charge of upkeep, organization, and decoration. A materialistic mode of being, however, is not restricted to gender. The lens enters the space of the biological “boy” with the purpose of documenting the intentionality of his belongings. ‘Masculine Objects’ aims to uncover how space is inhabited by a creature that is typically reserved in their materiality.
